Carlos Monteiro: A short biography.

Carlos E. T. B. Monteiro is an independent researcher and scientist from Brazil having an experience of about 43 years in dealing with medical matters.


In 1972 he turned to be a disciple and follower in the scientific plan from Dr. Quintiliano H. de Mesquita, who has developed the myogenic theory of myocardial infarction and other pioneer contributions to medical literature (QHM Memorial). Carlos Monteiro has accompanied Dr. Mesquita as a special collaborator until his death in 2000.


In 1999 he participated in the foundation of Infarct Combat Project and elected president by the board of directors with the support from Dr. Mesquita who was one of the members.


Carlos Monteiro still defending Dr. Mesquita’s medical and scientific ideas, through Infarct Combat Project. Recently he has developed a new hypothesis to explain atherosclerosis that was named acidity theory of atherosclerosis. The blog new evidences about his Acidity Theory you can find here


He is a non-official member of "The International Network of Cholesterol Skeptics (THINCS – http://www.thincs.org) and Fellow of the American Institute of Stress (http://www.stress.org)


Carlos Monteiro is also a  member from the honorary board of "Weston A. Price Foundation"( http://www.westonaprice.org/). The Foundation's quarterly journal, Wise Traditions in Food, Farming, and the Healing Arts, is dedicated to exploring the scientific validation of dietary, agricultural and medical traditions throughout the world.


His recent book “Acidity Theory of Atherosclerosis – New Evidences”, 2012 is being offered for Kindle readers and in paperback by Amazon.com. The printed edition is also being distributed by Barnes and Noble and other bookstores.


Carlos Monteiro is one of the signatories of a letter to The Academy Obesity Steering Group entitled “Obesity is an Iatrogenic Disease”. The Academy Obesity Steering Group has been established in 2012 to carry out a project on tackling obesity on behalf of the medical Royal Colleges and Faculties in Great-Britain.

 

He has made recently two lectures in  the Fourth International Conference of Advanced Cardiac Sciences - The King of Organs Conference, 2012, Saudi Arabia. The first was about the Myogenic Theory of Myocardial Infarction (Powerpoint presentation and video) and the second about the Acidity Theory of Atherosclerosis (Powerpoint presentation and video)
